Markham YorkU Scholars Hub: How We See in 3D @ Markham Village Library

We use 3D depth perception in many ways in our daily lives. Every time we catch a ball, walk down the stairs, thread a needle or watch a 3D movie, we rely on this ability. In this presentation Dr. Laurie Wilcox will review the information the brain uses to interpret depth and distance in the world around us. She will touch upon how this information is used to create 3D film and display systems.

Join Markham Public Library and York University as we bring to Markham a taste of the university experience. Each month YorkU faculty will bring their amazing research and provide an opportunity for our community to learn something new.

This is a FREE event, but an RSVP is required.

We're bringing the York Alumni team to the ball park on September 22 with the exclusive York University Alumni Night. For only $45 per person, you not only get to experience game day at the Rogers Centre while the Blue Jays take on the New York Yankees, but you also get to share in the excitement with fellow York grads along with snacks and networking.

The series, titled "Change How You See The World: Academia for Modern Life" will feature talks and expertise on climate change, sustainable energy solutions, and social responsibility.

CANY is excited to reintroduce this very popular event to the Canadian calendar in celebration of Canada 150 and Canadian university excellence. This is great opportunity for York alumni to meet and network with fellow Canadian university alumni in NYC. Representatives from many of Canada's universities, including York University, and the Canadian Consulate in New York will be there to join in on all the fun.
